What is MTU in WorkHorse?

Understanding MTU (Multi-Tenant Unit) in WorkHorse

A Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) in WorkHorse allows a single login to manage multiple companies from the same account. This feature is useful for users who oversee several businesses, franchises, or locations and want to switch between companies without needing separate logins.

How MTU Works

  1. Single Login Access

    • You log in once to WorkHorse and can access all companies assigned to your MTU.

    • No need for multiple usernames or passwords.

  2. Company Switching

    • Users can switch between companies directly from the interface.

    • Each company maintains separate invoices, service calls, employees, and reports.

  3. Data Separation

    • Even though a single login accesses multiple companies, data remains separate.

    • Reports, billing, and service calls are company-specific, preventing cross-company mix-ups.

  4. Permissions and Roles

    • User roles are company-specific.

    • For example, a user could be Admin for one company but only a Sales User for another.

Benefits of MTU

  • Efficiency: Manage multiple companies without logging in and out repeatedly.

  • Centralization: Keep oversight of multiple businesses in one place.

  • Security: Each company’s data remains separate despite shared login.

Best Practice:
When using MTU, always verify which company you are currently viewing before creating invoices, service calls, or running reports. This prevents accidental data entry in the wrong company.
